whole grain mornings

I have been waiting to post some photos from this shoot for MONTHS!!

Early last year, I got to photograph the recipes from Megan Gordon's delicious new cookbook, Whole Grain Mornings. I gotta say, this shoot totally rocked. First, the book is put out by one of my all-time favorite publishers, Ten Speed Press, and I got to work with an incredibly talented art director, Betsy, which is always a huge bonus. Also, I met Megan on this shoot, and she is fabulous-- a talented, hilarious, witty, creative, and all-around cool gal. It was great collaborating with her. (Plus, she introduced me to Heath Ceramics, which are my new prop obsessions.)
Last but not least, I got to work with the food styling goddess, Julie Hopper
All in all, a dream team.

Aside from all that goodness, the food featured in Whole Grain Mornings is TASTY. If you are familiar with Megan's blog, then you know she creates wholesome and delicious recipes that are also approachable, and her book is right along those same lines. I highly recommend checking it out.

I love the styling. The shots make you feel like you are in the country and ready for breakfast.

Whoa, this these photos and the food rock! I want this cookbook. I love breakfasts and brunches; it is so easy to make them elegant and unforgettably delicious.

Another masterpiece, Clare!

Great photos, and from the sounds of it, a great book! Breakfast is so important, but I feel it's really neglected in the culinary book world.
