collections cafe

A few weeks ago I talked about my client, SkyCity. The shots below are from another client located at the Seattle Center; Collections Cafe.

The cafe is connected to the spectacular Chihuly Garden and Glass, and the restaurant is just what you would expect in such an environment-- a colorful, playful and eclectic space, serving delicious food.

ivory: a maternity shoot

While the vast majority of my shoots are food or farm oriented, I still occasionally do portrait work and I'm kind of in love with this recent maternity session.

I went to art school with Joe, who is not only a visual artist but a talented designer, and I recently met his lovely wife, Ivory, who is a musician and vocal coach. Being the creative folks that they are, Joe and Ivory were interested in having some fun with their photo shoot. :)

skycity restaurant

One of my clients is SkyCity Restaurant, located right at the top of the Space Needle. I've been shooting for them for the past year or so, and we changed things up at this last shoot. Instead of photographing all of Chef Jeff's beautiful food on the restaurant's white plates and wood or marble tabletops, I brought in some of my own dishes and surfaces. With the help of food stylist extraordinaire, Julie Hopper, we were able to showcase SkyCity's food in a new way.

I love the results!
