I am nominated for an award!! (and need your vote)

I wanted to let you know that I have been nominated for a very cool, (and pretty darn prestigious) award!!!! (And I need your help, so please keep reading...)

This past September, my business was written about in the Seattle edition of DailyCandy, a daily newsletter with huge readership. Every day of the year, the editors at DailyCandy write about one great "thing" they think people should know about. It could be a new restaurant or a local clothing designer or the best place to get a massage. The point is, DailyCandy is strictly editorial- you cannot pay to have your business mentioned, which is why I was so thrilled when my business, (and, even more specifically, my website) was featured in September.

About a month ago, I received an email letting me know that my business was one of only 15 from Seattle that had been nominated by the DailyCandy editors for the "Sweetest Things of 2008."

I think I am still in shock.

Being nominated for this award is SUCH an honor, and will greatly increase the traffic to my website and my blog because, (and here is where you come in) the DailyCandy readers will be choosing the winners by visiting the sites of the nominees and voting for their favorites.

That means that I am soliciting your vote, (and, ideally, the vote of everyone you know. No pressure.)

Here is the link to the voting. My business is in the "advice" category, (It'll make sense when you see the categories.)

I would be SO incredibly appreciative if you would take a few minutes and pass on this link to people you know. The more traffic I get to my site, the better. And, of course, the more votes, the better, too. :)

The winners will be announced at the end of January.

Thank you so much, and Happy Holidays to you ALL!
XOXO

Success!!

Okay, first, I must apologize for taking 900 years to post this. Urban Unveiled happened on February 21st, which is an embarrassing 10 days ago, and I'm only getting to my blog now. The recovery time took a bit longer than I expected and I am just starting to return to the land of the living. :)

SO! Where do I begin?

What a night!!!!!! We had a full house at Benaroya Hall, (which, in that venue, is no small feat!) The space looked absolutely gorgeous, (thank you, Rented Elegance, for your magical work), the food by Wolfgang Puck, Tom Douglas, and Herban Feast received rave reviews, and the fashion show by Luly Yang featured some whimsical and fabulous dresses. On top of that, ALL of our incredible vendors did an amazing job showcasing their talents. People were blown away by the talent in the room.

Leading up to the event, Urban Unveiled was featured in Daily Candy, Style Me Pretty, NW Source, and on the Seattle P.I. blog, which all contributed to helping make the event a success. I have heard such incredible feedback from our vendors and from many of the brides who attended and I am so incredibly thrilled by everyone's excitement. Sharlane, Jesse, Travis, and I feel so proud to have achieved exactly what we wanted from this event, and are so looking forward to the next one.....which, by the way, will be happening sooner than you may think. So, stay tuned!!

Here are just a few shots from the evening, taken by Sharlane and myself.

The count down begins...

I cannot believe that Urban Unveiled is tomorrow!!

Sharlane, Jesse, Travis, and I have all worked so hard to make the second annual Urban Unveiled amazing and we have gotten such an incredible response.

Today I saw this article about the event, and it made my day!! It's so great to see your hard work pay off. :)

31 more hours and counting....
