My favorite designer

I just have to do a little shout out to my wonderful friend, Auburn, who is an AMAZING artist and designer. She recently did my new business cards and, seriously, I get comments on them EVERY SINGLE TIME I hand one out. Seriously.
In fact, I just met with a guy about a commercial job and it turns out that the initial reason he went to my website at all was to see who designed my cards.

So there ya' go.

Auburn lives in the Bay Area but regularly works with people who live elsewhere. If you are in need of a new card, brochure, rate sheet, or anything design-y, you should definitely check her out. Plus, she is an incredible painter and artist and she is super fabulous and lovely....which are all even more reasons to love her.

Here, I'll link to her again: www.risingdesignstudio.com

Jordan and Ian

I just stopped in to post a few very fun photos of a VERY FUN couple.
Jordan and Ian are super cute and hilarious, and we had a great time shooting their engagement session at Pike Place!

Shannon and Will

Shannon and Will are one of those couples. You know the ones I mean- fun, sweet, silly, affectionate, and obviously so crazy about one another that you just have to smile when you are with them. Their wedding was at my favorite venue, Larkspur Farm, which just made me like Shannon and Will more. All in all, a pretty perfect job for me. Congrats, you two!

A whole plethora of things...

My apologies...it's been over 2 months since my last post. But I am back and I have some good reasons for my long absence!!

I have some really exciting things going on right now....:)

As many people know, I have been shooting over 40 weddings a year for several years now. Last fall, I made a decision to cut way back on weddings and focus on some other areas of my business.
I have been incredibly blessed to work with some amazing couples over the years, but I feel really good about the decision to take fewer jobs and start moving my business in a new direction. This is not to say that I am done shooting weddings altogether...I'm not....but I am definitely limiting the number I shoot.

That being said, I have created a new website! As you will see, there are no weddings on this new site. I am going to keep my wedding work limited to www.claremariephotography.com and eventually shift the rest of my work over to the new site. So, it's kind of a work in progress.
Check it out! www.clarebarboza.com
You definitely need a fast internet connection for the new site, otherwise it'll take a long time loading.

Because of the new direction my work is taking, I decided to leave Urban Unveiled.
This was a really hard decision to make. Sharlane, Jesse, Travis and I work so well together and have become really good friends. However, Urban Unveiled is a full time job and I really wanted to use my time focusing on some of my work outside of the wedding industry. I wish the three of them the best of luck and I know that they will continue to create an event like none other in this city!

So, what have I been doing for the last 2 months?

A LOT of portrait work, several very cool projects for fantastic local businesses, a couple super fun weddings, (to be posted soon), a great shoot for a yoga bag designer in Berkeley, and some personal work. Plus, I found out that Corbis sold one of my baby images for a 1-year exclusive-use contract. So, one of my photos will be in Walmarts across the country for the next year. Crazy, huh?

Lastly, I am up for a dream gig right now. I don't want to talk about it quite yet because there are a few details that still need to be worked out but, let me just tell you, IT IS AWESOME. Truly, it will be a dream come true for me, so please keep your fingers crossed and I promise to keep y'all posted!

Below are some favorite shots from recent shoots. It's a random mix of stuff, but oh well! :)
