a few blogs i love

I don't follow many blogs but when I visit one, I want to be inspired. I want to laugh or be moved or be awed by something beautiful.

Here are 3 blogs that kind of rock my world...

Inspiration for an Ordinary Life
Full disclosure-- Tess is a good friend of mine. However, it was really her writing that made me realize, "I MUST know this woman! We really need to hang out."
See, Tess and I have a mutual close friend so she has been in my periphery for about 12 years. Due to the magic of Facebook and having the opportunity to get a glimpse into her life and her writing in a way I hadn't before, I knew we were kindred spirits.
Her writing moves me to tears pretty much every time I read it. Like this post. And this post that she wrote for Mamapedia.
Anyway, check her out.

Trying to be Good
Emelia, the author of this blog, SLAYS ME. She talks about everything from her spiritual path to yoga to chin hair to sex and she does it in the most hilarious, human, and honest way possible. I love her. (However if you are easily offended, you may want to steer clear. Profanity abounds.)
Emelia first won me over with this post, which she wrote for another site. After that one, I started following her blog and fell in love with posts like this one and this one.
She is fab.

Oprisco
First off, the link above isn't a blog, it's a website. Second, I am embarrassed to say that I don't have a whole lot of info about this guy because his Live Journal site (where I originally found him) is in Russian. It was this image that totally won me over. And these.
I absolutely LOVE the surreal, fairy-tale quality to his fashion work. I would hang his images on my wall in a heartbeat. So, go check out his website and get ready to be inspired.

Thank you so much. I have put both blogs in my reader. Tess' writing really speaks to me and I know I will spend a lot of time going back to read past entries. Also, I had to say I have been a fan of Oleg Oprisco's work for awhile... even wrote a post on him:

His work is absolutely incredible.
