Ahh, that's a tough question. :) Even after 5 years of art school, I always struggle explaining my personal work.
This particular shot was taken in the industrial area of Seattle. I tend to be drawn to places and things that evoke a sense of melancholy, particularly with my black and white work. I want the images to feel a bit like memories, so I try to give them a sense of dreaminess.
Honestly, I try not to over-think this type of work because I have found that when I do, I get in my own way. Does that make sense?

Any chance you could offer a little explanation of these photos of the day? Like where and when taken... what you you trying to encapsulate... ta ;-)
