As most of you know, I am retired from photographing weddings. I did it for a long time, I met some amazing people, I had some good times. But I have not regretted my decision to move on in a different direction once. Not once. It was the right move for me.
That being said, when one of my former workshop attendees wrote me a letter telling me all the reasons why I should come out to Italy to shoot her wedding in the Chianti region of Tuscany, I made an exception. I mean, it's ITALY. In the WINE REGION. C'mon.
Sometimes a girl has to be flexible.
The wedding location was as picturesque as it gets-- old, crumbling buildings, a gorgeous villa, the most awesome little chapel I have ever seen, olive trees, surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills and ancient villages. Throw in some lovely and gracious people, lots of good food and wine, and you have a dream wedding.
Thank you, Melissa and Brett, for including us in your adventure. It was an honor.

Wow!! Clare, you have captured the beauty of Tuscany!!
That wedding just killed me. Stunning.
Dreamiest wedding. Amazing locations. You nailed it.
just gorgeous Clare. I would like to ask... I often see photos that have a bit of vignetting or black edges, especially from photographers that use canon cameras, is that a extremely fast shutter speed or a type of lens? thanks, valery

Oh...what a dream ... both to experience as the bride and groom and to record as the photographer!
I just received my Italian citizenship and passport ... and hope to enjoy some time there too.
What a way to come out of retirement. So happy for you!
Valery, I find that wide angle shots on my Canons have a slight vignetting to them. However, I enhance the vignetting on specific shots if I think it adds to the image. Thanks for commenting! :)
So, so lovely. Wonderful captures of the people and place.
Gorgeous photography! I feel like I just went to Tuscany. Thank you, Clare. Can't wait to see more photos from your trip.
Clare these pics are AMAZING! You captured the beauty and tenderness of the happy couple and the gorgeous countryside of Tuscany.
Happy you came out of retirement for this one :)
Clare, another masterful work of art! Thank you for sharing your photos. Is there a story behind the picture locket on the bride's bouquet?
Oh, Clare. I seriously have no words. You are still my favorite wedding photographer. Absolutely brilliant. Every single shot. Thanks for sharing!
Tom, if I remember correctly the locket held a photo of the bride's grandmother. Very sweet. :)
Clare you are so damn talented! I'm so glad we benefited from your incredible skills at our wedding before you officially went into wedding retirement! Hope you enjoyed your trip to Italy (jealous!)
