I am OFF!!

After working 60-70 hours a week for WAY too many months, I am taking a break. In a couple hours, I leave on a three week vacation to see my huge extended family that resides in the eastern half of the country. I cannot wait. The next three weeks have no agenda, no schedule, no structure at all, and that's just how I like it.

In my absence, my assistant will be responding to all my emails. She is available to answer questions and book appointments and portrait sessions for when I return.

In the meantime, I may not be updating my blog for a little while. Or maybe I will. See...that's part of the whole "no agenda, no schedule" thing I've got going. :)

Have a great month!!

Tiffany and Will

Tiffany found me on Lulu Weddings and, after looking at my website, recognized me as one of her friends and classmates from elementary school!! That's right- she and I went to Sunset Elementary together, had the same scary baby sitter, and have photos of ourselves at each other's birthday parties. What's even funnier is that this is the second time a client has recognized me from elementary school! It's such a small world.

Tiffany and Will got married at St. Joe's church on Capitol Hill and had their reception at The Knights of Columbus Hall. Despite the cold and wet weather outside, this wedding had a little bit of everything: a bride and groom who are obviously crazy about one another, a sweet ceremony, emotional speeches and crazy dancing at the reception, and even a pinata for the kids!

Adela

This is Adela. Her parents, Elisabeth and Russ, got married a few years back and I photographed the wedding. It was a lovely, small celebration in the spring, and it was one of my favorite weddings of that year. Since then, I have shot their maternity photos, Adela's 2-month portraits, her 6-month portraits and, now, her 1-year portraits. In addition, I have another upcoming shoot with this little family on Sunday, (and, yes, Elisabeth, I remember that it's the end of Daylight Savings, but thank you for the reminder!)
I love seeing Russ, Elisabeth, and Adela and I love watching their family grow. Truly, it is clients like these that make my job so fulfilling.
So, thank you, O'Ja family! Thanks for the laughs, the roofing advice, and the trust you place in me to document your memories.
